Legal Help with Wills, Trusts, Probates, and Elderlaw During COVID 19

Lee Craig July 2, 2020

The Law Office of Lee Craig is working to provide safe and consistent processing of wills, trusts, probates, and elderlaw matters during this time. Much of our counseling and intake in all areas in which we practice has always been performed by phone, email, and internet, even prior to the COVID 19 outbreak, and we will continue to provide that service.

Wills, Trusts, and Estate Planning – We have the capability to provide for no-contact intake interviews, document creation, and review of documents by the client via phone, email, text, Zoom, Skype, and other media methods. Where in-person meetings are absolutely necessary we have provided a large room (approx. 20”x20’) in which to execute the documents if they are of a type that cannot be notarized long distance. A long conference table providing much more than 6’ of distancing is set up with the client at one end and witnesses and attorney at the other. Gloves and masks are mandatory and are provided to any participant that does not have their own. If the client requests a face to face intake interview we will also accommodate them the same way described above. Some types of notary work may also be performed long distance.

Probate - The courts are providing hearings of uncontested probate cases via Zoom or phone and our law office is currently litigating in that manner. You may sit in your own home during the hearing and participate via the internet or phone. As the courts adjust to the situation going forward other types of more complex hearings may be held in this manner or in time the courts may decide to completely open on Zoom or for in-person hearings.
